Keram’s third short for the Fundamentals of Directing class taught by Pete Shaner at UCLA extension. The goal of this exercise was to work as a “hired gun” – using existing dialogue that could not be altered in any way. Students had to determine who was saying the dialogue and create a story around it.
They also had to introduce recorded sound and use a wide variety of shots.
The film was shot on a Canon HV20 with no lens adapter, a simple 2 light setup, and in one shot (you will surely be able to identify it) with some inserted footage shot with a Canon 5D Mark II.
Edited and color corrected in Sony Vegas with Red Giant Magic Bullet and Sony Cinescore to create the music
